Five easy hours on the water: a guided snorkel over the reefs of the Icacos Nature Reserve, then a long, lazy beach stop with a deli buffet lunch and piña coladas served on board.
The day
Icacos is an uninhabited cay inside a protected nature reserve, a short boat ride from Fajardo and untouched by roads, hotels or crowds. Mornings here are the calmest of the day. The light is high, the water is glass, and the reef is wide awake.
You will snorkel with a guide over coral heads busy with tropical fish, then anchor off the white sandbar for more than two hours of beach time. Swim, float on the mat, nap in the shade of the cabin. Lunch is a full deli buffet with rum punch and piña coladas, and the ride home is the kind of quiet that resets a whole vacation.
Meet the crew in Fajardo, park free, get fitted for gear and hop aboard.
A short ride across the sound to the Icacos Nature Reserve.
Float over coral gardens with your guide pointing out fish, rays and the occasional surprise.
Two-plus hours anchored off the sandbar. Deli buffet lunch, rum punch and piña coladas on board.
Back to the marina relaxed, salty and fed.
